In September 2023, HCO promoted inclusivity for individuals with special needs by working with organizations in the Greater Houston and Greater Dallas areas, encouraging local youth organizations to establish inclusive Play & Learn activities in their communities. HCO supported the setup phase of the program by helping local youth identify partners, providing guidance, and sharing best practices to ensure a successful launch. HCO also supplied partnered organizations with materials for their events and organized online workshops to allow youth to exchange ideas and share best practices. To date, the SMILE Inclusive Play & Learn program has held 30 sessions across three locations: Katy, West Houston, and Plano.
