Youth SMILE 4 Special Needs
Bucket Drumming for All

Bucket Drumming for All
Bucket Drumming for All is a youth-led program that teaches bucket drumming to individuals of all ages with special needs. The program officially launched in summer 2024 at three organizations serving individual with special needs: GiGi’s Playhouse Sugar Land, GiGi’s Playhouse Houston, and Easter Seals Greater Houston. During the summer, a total of twenty-two sessions have been conducted for three age groups—kids, teens, and adults. These lessons not only teach music, rhythm, and following directions but also serve as opportunities to build confidence, teamwork, decision-making, and leadership skills for individuals with special needs. Building on this successful experience, HCO continues to implement sustainable Bucket Drumming for All programs in various locations.
